How to make an invoice
- Add your details. Upload your logo and enter your business name and address in the “Who is this from?” box.
- Add your client. Put the customer’s name and billing address under “Bill To”. Use “Ship To” only if goods go to a different address.
- Set the dates. Choose the invoice date, write your payment terms (for example “Net 30”) and pick a due date.
- List what you’re charging for. One line per product or service, with quantity and rate. Amounts add up automatically.
- Apply tax, discount or shipping as a percentage or a fixed amount, and record any deposit under “Amount Paid”.
- Download the PDF and email it to your client. The invoice is also saved in your History so you can reuse it.
What should an invoice include?
A clear invoice gets paid faster. At a minimum, include:
- The word “Invoice” and a unique, sequential invoice number
- Your business name, address and contact details
- Your client’s name and address
- The invoice date and the payment due date
- An itemised list of goods or services with quantities, rates and line totals
- Subtotal, any tax and discounts, and the total amount due
- How to pay you: bank details, payment link or accepted methods

Tips for getting paid on time
- Send the invoice as soon as the work is done, while it’s fresh for your client.
- Use short, specific payment terms. “Due in 14 days” works better than “Due on receipt” that nobody acts on.
- Put your payment instructions in the Notes field so the client doesn’t have to ask.
- Keep invoice numbers sequential. The generator suggests the next number when you start a new document.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add my company logo?
Yes. Click “Add Your Logo” at the top of the invoice and choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image. It is placed at the top of the PDF.
Can I change the labels on the invoice?
Every label, from “Bill To” to “Balance Due”, can be edited. Click on it and type, for example to translate the invoice into another language.
Which currencies are supported?
You can choose from more than 35 currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AUD, CAD and AED, using the Currency menu.
How do I send the invoice to my client?
Download the PDF and attach it to an email, or share it over WhatsApp or any messaging app.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can create and download as many documents as you like without paying and without creating an account.
Where is my data stored?
Everything you type stays in your own browser. Drafts and your history are saved locally on this device, so nothing is uploaded to our servers.
